Spinal Table Work Home
PAUSTIAN SPINAL TABLE WORK HOME
Paustian & Paustian Furniture Collection proudly presents Spinal Table Home Work; a new and smaller version of the Danish architect and designer Paul Leroy’s classic Spinal Table made specifically for the workspace at home. We know that every home is unique and that is why we have created a contemporary alternative to the well-known height-adjustable work table. Spinal Table Home Work measures from 120 x 70 cm up to 160 x 80 cm for the rectangular table top and 148 x 72 cm for the organically shaped version making it an ideal fit for most homes.
Spinal Table Home Work is the latest addition to Paustian & Paustian Furniture Collection’s popular Spinal-series; a series of chairs and tables designed for both home and work.
Spinal Table is both beautiful and functional in its simplicity and with the addition of the smaller Spinal Table Home Work, it is also more flexible than ever. The design philosophy behind the table is to bridge the gap between home and work and to create the best possible environment for working from home. Both for the body, the eye and the soul.

In addition to the well-known rectangular table top, Spinal Table Home Work is available with a new organically shaped table top with rounded edges and soft lines. Both are on offer in linoleum, recycled plastic and veneer in light or smoked oak on short notice, while tailor-made solutions are available upon request. The adjustable powder coated steel frame is available in black, white and green and comes with noise-reduced electric legs from Danish manufacturer, LINAK. The table also comes with a hidden tray for loose cables, wires etc.
In collaboration with RE-plastic, Spinal Table Home Work is available with a beautiful, marbled table top that is made entirely from recycled plastic, giving each table top a unique expression. Sustainability is a big part of Paustian and we are proud to present a product that is not only sustainable in its design, but also in its production.

Soft
PAUSTIAN SOFT
Paustian SOFT is a collection of throws and pillows designed exclusively for Paustian in 2018 by Danish textile designer Helene Blanche.
The collection takes its point of departure in the classic ‘horse cloth’ textile, that the founder of Paustian, Ole Paustian, started using back in the 1960’s in interiors and for furniture – and by the way was the inspiration for the iconic Paustian Modular Sofa from 1969.
BABY ALPACA WOOL
The SOFT collection is woven in pure baby alpaca wool from Peru. Using a minimalistic and sophisticated take, Helene Blanche has redefined the softly textured throws by creating two new patterns, “Stripes” and “Plain“, while still maintaining the classic “Checks”. All three designs in the SOFT collection emit classic elegance and have a simple, yet luxurious feel. The throws are suitable for use in a wide variety of interiors and work beautifully together in a multitude of combinations due to the subtle colour scheme, which emanates freshness, yet establishes an emotional depth. The patterns have a modern look with an artisan finish, the substance of which becomes exceptionally clear when the patterns are viewed and used together.

HELENE BLANCHE
Helene Blanche is a Danish textile designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Intrigued by woven fabric and the way a single thread moves to create a Structural repetition, it is this textural rhythm and vibrant dynamic that inspires her:
“I enjoy working with such basic, yet highly sophisticated patterns and I feel at home in the sphere between Cubist art and my historical Parisian textile samples”.
Helene Blanche is responsible for the creative direction of Tapet-Cafe alongside designing their in-house textile and wallpaper collections. Her collections are sold exclusively at Tapet-Cafe in Denmark, and from a selection of handpicked international showrooms, particularly in Paris, London, Stockholm, Moscow and Sydney.

Modular Sofa
PAUSTIAN MODULAR SOFA
Paustian Modular Sofa was designed in 1969, and by virtue of its unique ability to change expression all according to its upholstery, it remains both classic and contemporary to this day.
The sofa’s minimalist design idiom helps to emphasize the surrounding architecture and can produce an almost sculptural effect.
With its clean cut but very sculptural design and comfortable seating, the sofa is ideal for the home as well as the office.
Sculptural and minimalist, the Paustian Modular Sofa is both contemporary and classic.
The sofa is available in various upholsteries.
FLEXIBLE MODULES
The sofa consists of straight and corner sofa modules, as well as a pouffe, all of which can be combined to create exactly the sofa you would like. The sofa can be easily modified, expanded or divided when new needs arise. The modules can even be turned in opposite directions.

Ensemble
PAUSTIAN ENSEMBLE
Paustian Ensemble – a modular sofa, a lounge chair and coffee tables designed in 2018 by Theresa Rand.
The Ensemble sofa consists of eight different sofa modules, that can be combined in many ways – as corner sofas, 2-seater sofa, 3-seater sofa, with rounded sides or with an integrated ottoman, etc.
The Ensemble sofa is complemented by a lounge chair and 3 coffee tables that are all reflecting the expression of the sofa.
THE NAME ‘ENSEMBLE’
The idea behind the Ensemble sofa was to wrap comfort in elegance and a light expression. The Ensemble sofa is flexible and customizable without having a bulky look. The rounded edge elements and the ottoman have the shape of a half-circle, which gives the sofa a more curvy, cosy, and inviting appearance. It is playing with basic geometrical shapes but has a soft feel.
The name Ensemble refers to one of the meanings of the word in French: together.
ENSEMBLE COFFEE TABLE
The inspiration for the Ensemble coffee table comes from Brazilian mid-century architecture and design and has been reinterpreted in a contemporary Scandinavian way.

ENSEMBLE COFFEE TABLE
The construction of the coffee table is simple and geometrical, playing with the half circle shape that the sofa likewise is based upon. The coffee table comes in three different sizes, which can be combined with each other or stand by themselves, all complimenting the sofa’s circular and soft expression.
THERESA RAND
Theresa Rand is an architect, educated in both Germany and Denmark. Especially after graduating from the School of Architecture in Copenhagen she concentrated on furniture design. Studio Theresa Rand is based in Copenhagen and works on functional yet poetic furniture, living accessories and lighting, characterized by pure lines with a sensual expression.
The focus of the studio’s work is on the use of natural, authentic and lasting materials, their tactile qualities and on the way in which they are combined.

Garden Set
PAUSTIAN GARDEN SET
The Paustian Garden Set is a popular outdoor classic, designed by the Danish duo Henrik Rolff and Leif Rasmussen.
The Garden Set is despite its age still current. It is made from sustainable FLEGT certified teak wood, which ensures a long durability.
The Garden Set is made from massive teak planks and has a frame of galvanized steel tubing. The tabletop, which is a bit longer than the benches, makes it possible to place the garden sets in continuation of each other or to add a chair in both ends of the garden set. In this way, 8 people, instead of 6, can be seated.
Paustian Garden Set can be used both in the garden at home, at companies or in public spaces and is a simple solution, that uses a minimum of space. Bench and a table in one – it couldn’t be more simple!
The Garden Set can stay outside all year, which only makes it even more beautiful.
Measurements: H: 70 cm x W: 165 cm x D: 170 cm

Paustian Garden Set is made of sustainable FLEGT certified teak wood, which have been harvested from over 40 years old, Indonesian teak trees grown on sustainable plantations. This ensures a long durability.

Arctander
PAUSTIAN ARCTANDER COLLECTION
Paustian Furniture Collection is adding to its impressive roster of modern furniture classics with an exclusive relaunch of ‘Muslingestolen’, that originally introduced and produced in very limited numbers in 1944. The Arctander Collection features a sofa, a table and an ottoman.
The collection is a part of Paustian Furniture Collection, featured alongside a curated selection of modern design classics by prominent Danish designers.
The Arctander Collection also includes a new, higher version of the Arctander Chair intended for the contract market or customers looking for a more upright sitting position.
The Arctander Collection also sees the introduction of two new types of wood – walnut & ash – in addition to oak, alongside a wide variety of new and exclusive fabrics.
New fabrics include Amoir Libre from Dedar Milano, Storr from Bute Fabrics and an authentic hand woven fabric from McNutt. The collection is still offered in the familiar sheepskin from Skandilock and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel hide, Dunes, from Sørensen Leather. A brand new edition in Gotland Sheepskin from SIPO is available in limited numbers. The Arctander Table is available in a wood base with a table-top in a variety of exclusive stones. All wood variants are FSC-certified.

Today, the Arctander Collection with its light expression, soft padded form and rounded legs is a reference point as well as an outlier of modern Danish furniture design.

The ASAP chair is designed for use at the dining table in the home, in restaurants, in the meeting-room or canteen at work, or indeed anywhere where it is desirable to have an elegant and useful chair in a contemporary idiom with great strength and durability. The seat frame and back are manufactured in the environmentally friendly and UV resistant ASA plastic and the frame is powder-coated steel in either white or black.
PAUSTIAN ASAP TABLE
The ASAP Table is well suited for both modern and more classical surroundings. About Paustian
PIONEERS SINCE 1964
Since 1964 Paustian has represented some of the most celebrated and renowned furniture designs for homes and organizations. We are retailers, distributors and manufactures. We are consultants, curators and designers.
OLE PAUSTIAN
Paustian was founded by Ole Paustian in 1964. Ole Paustian became co-owner of the company his father had owned since 1937.
The store, which was located on Vesterbrogade no. 67, sold various stock items as well as the horse blanket fabric. As co-owner and head of day-to-day operations, Ole Paustian, along with his wife Monika Paustian, began turning his father’s shop into a furniture store, and it became the beginning of the Paustian we know today.
Ole and Monika Paustian became personally friends with a number of international designers; including Alvar Aalto and Ray and Charles Eames, which furniture were sold in their store.
Ole and Monika Paustian also did a lot of other things which didn’t have anything with furniture sales to do. Exhibition of Herman Miller, jazz concerts with Svend Asmussen and several international names who played at Montmartre became part of their daily work.
UTZON HOUSE 1987
In 1985 Ole Paustian invited Jørn Utzon to design a showroom building on the Copenhagen waterfront as an extension to one of his warehouses. Utzon sent design sketches to his sons Jan and Kim who produced final drawings and construction plans.
Inspiration for the design came to Utzon while he was walking through a forest of beech trees. The airy, three-storey building with extensive exhibition space is indeed reminiscent of a forest. Standing on the edge of the harbour, its external pillars give it a temple-like appearance. Inside, tall white fan-topped columns stretch up to the ceiling where they are connected by geometrical archways. Utzon’s son Kim, who helped with the original plans, went on to expand the complex with two new buildings housing a restaurant and a yacht club as well as extensions to the showrooms. Utzon’s daughter Lin contributed to the interior decoration including the blue tiling along the wooden staircasesIn 2010 Jørn Utzon’s son, Architect Kim Utzon, designed an extension which beautifully completes the original building.
In September 2021 the Utzon House is closed and moved to Paustian V/ Strøget in the heart of Copenhagen.

It all started on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen, where Ole Paustian founded the Paustian furniture store in 1964. Over the years, Ole and Monika Paustian have built up the Paustian brand.

FRANTZ LONGHI
Since 2017 architect educated Entrepreneur Frantz Longhi has been co-owner and CEO of Paustian. Among other things, Frantz Longhi is known for having bought the design company Kähler in 2008 and made it national heritage again. He is also behind the award-winning design firm Warm Nordic, which is also sold at Paustian.
COMPENTENCE AREAS
Over time, Paustians has developed a wide range of competence areas, and appears today as a very complex company with:
• Paustian Retail/Web
• Paustian Wholesale
• Paustian Contract
• Paustian Furniture & Design Collection
• Paustian Snedkeri (carpentry)
Regardless of whether it is about providing a dining room table or workstations for 600 people, it takes a good sense of both design and function. It requires an eye for detail, knowledge of materials, and the ability to put it all together in the right way. It demands a respect for tradition and the courage to think in new ways.
DISTRIBUTION, BRANDS AND OWN FURNITURE COLLECTION
Over the years our various collaborations with some of the world’s best designers and furniture manufacturers have lead to strong partnerships. Paustian is exclusive distributor of Viccarbe in Denmark, and we carry a wide range of leading brands and designers – both Danish and international.
Our eye for design and quality has a strong presence in our own furniture collection – Paustian Furniture Collection. The collection is designed and created by Danish architects and designers, and large portions of our pieces are manufactured in our own factory, Paustian Snedkeri in Grenå, Denmark.
